WPFC’s Web site has much on its varied activities in defense of press freedom, such as text for its annual Andersen-Ottaway Lecture Series and many reports, such as the recent “New Media: The Press Freedom Dimension/Challenges and Opportunities of New Media for Press Freedom.” The World Press Freedom Committee is an international umbrella organization that includes 45 journalistic groups -- print and broadcast, labor and management, journalists, editors, publishers and owners on six continents -- united in the defense and promotion of press freedom.

The Web site of IFEX, a project of the Canadian Journalists for Free Expression created in 1992 at the request of numerous international press-freedom organizations, is rich in alerts on cases of attacks against journalists from around the globe.
