Grantmaking

Grantseekers

The Education Program funds a wide variety of organizations and activities that advance its mission through one or more of its priority areas. Areas of support include public policy, quality assurance strategies and public awareness.

Please note: the Program does not support individual scholarships or individual early childhood education programs. (For example, we do not support home-based, center-based or school-based providers’ requests for funds to cover the costs of field trips, supplies, equipment, operations, etc.)

Application Process

The Foundation welcomes requests for funding from nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations for initiatives that support the mission of the Education Program.

Before submitting a proposal, an organization should send a letter of inquiry no later than November 1 that describes, in no more than two pages, the nature, purpose, and cost of the proposed program. The letter should also outline the need for the program and the qualifications of the organization.

The Foundation staff will then help the organization determine whether to submit a formal proposal. The Foundation’s board of directors considers most education grant requests in May of each year. Proposals are due no later than February 1.
