Grantseekers

An active and knowledgeable citizenry is the backbone of American democracy. Recognizing this, the McCormick Tribune Foundation Citizenship Program seeks to develop an informed and engaged citizenry and honor the military legacy of Col. Robert R. McCormick by investing in programs that: promote civic engagement and volunteerism, civic dialogue and honor our veterans and soldiers.

Application Process

The McCormick Tribune Foundation welcomes requests for funding from nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations for initiatives that support the mission of the Citizenship Program.

Before submitting a proposal, an organization should send a letter of inquiry that describes, in no more than two pages, the nature, purposes and costs of the proposed program. This letter should also outline the need for the program and the qualifications of the organization. For requests over $50,000, grant seekers should submit letters of inquiry no later than Dec. 1, to be considered at the February meeting.
